Life has been busy and exciting lately. It amazes me how things just have a way of working out sometimes. The firm I've been interning at this semester offered to hire me on part-time. I will be working as a marketing specialist, dealing primarily with social media and copy-writing. It's something that I really enjoy doing. I've learned so much in the past four months and I'm excited to stay. The position sort of fell into my lap to begin with. I originally interviewed for a job as a secretary for another company in the same building. They didn't hire me, but asked if it was okay for them to pass my resume on to another company who was looking for an intern. And here I am! Since I started majoring in journalism, I knew that being a reporter wasn't the route for me. I still wanted to write and I haven't regretted choosing journalism as my major, but I was looking for something else career-wise -- I just didn't know what. This internship has been a huge eye-opener and a great experience. Someone at the company gave me this advice when I first started: "Own your job and be confident in what you do. You don't realize how much you already know." I've found this to be true. And if ever I'm still not feeling confident, well then I break out my old motto..."Fake it, till you make it". It never fails.

Continuing with the exciting things that have happened this week, I received an email from the editor of a local paper, telling me that they had read my work and would I consider working as a contributing reporter this coming semester. I was flattered by the offer, but am still considering it. Next semester will be my last one here at VCU and it is shaping up to be a doozy. I don't want to pile too much on my plate, but still...little things like that make a girl feel good!

And finally, the best news of all! There's only 29 days until the wedding. I'm headed home this weekend to work on a few more wedding-related things. It's going to be here before I know it. Here's to having a great weekend! It's the last one in April, you know, so live it up! And now some links!

- Would you go on a Sound of Music tour?

- The New Breed of magazines.

- This bride made her dress out of bread bag clips...and it actually looks really cute! She was quoted saying, "There are so many occasions when you can wear a beautiful feminine dress in your life. For a really special day I thought, why not have something completely outlandish?"

- A pencil skirt you can ride a bike in.

- Ha! I need to hang this print up in my apartment.

- I loved reading about Erin Loechner's workflow and where she finds inspiration for her blog.

- I like the post in numbers that Danielle at Sometimes Sweet started. Here's another.
