5 Thanksgiving Recipes To Try

I have a rotation of recipes that I usually stick with during the week - especially with our makeshift kitchen at the moment. Easy is just better. These Whole30 recipes were about as ambitious as I've gotten lately. But Thanksgiving is a whole different story. In our family, the day revolves solely around cooking and baking. We start early in the morning and are still pulling things out of the oven as we're sitting down to the table. After the main meal, a line-up of dishes usually sits on the counter all evening for grazing and snacking (leftover stuffing, anyone?!). I'm even more excited about it this year because I’ll be able to bake in a real oven!

Obviously, I've got a thing for weirdly colored food this year. I just love that you can create such unique looking dishes with good-for-you ingredients. This is also the first year that I'm trying my hand at some paleo recipes as well. Not because I eat exclusively paleo, but just because I want to give those ingredients and combinations a try. I still plan to indulge wholeheartedly in the Thanksgiving classics like stuffing and Mark's deep-fried turkey. I'll be putting my food freedom to good use on Thanksgiving day (and the whole weekend after) by asking myself "Do I really want it?" and "Is it worth it?" If the answer is yes, I'm diving in! If the answer is no, I'll pass and eat my fill of other delicious selections. It doesn't have to be complicated.
