What's In My Amazon Cart | Vol. 2

Wednesday, December 06, 2017

I've done my fair share of holiday shopping in years past — especially during the hype that is Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, though, I took a pass. There was nothing particular that I needed or wanted and the thought of joining the madness just made me stress. So I didn't. I wasn't completely immune - I succumbed to a few "Last Chance!" email subject lines, but ultimately clicked out once I realized what I was doing. Someone reminded me recently that there's no admission price to the holidays and it was just what I needed to hear. You're not doing it any better or worse if you don't sink boatloads of money into gifts and decorations.

With that in mind, I've continued my practice of using my Amazon cart as a place to save items for later during the holidays (especially during the holidays) to make sure I'm not making impulsive decisions during the madness of holiday sales. These are a few things I've got hanging out in my cart.

1. This water bottle made its way to my cart after reading this article about the benefits of copper.

2. A Waterpik is one of the more random items sitting in my cart. I like the concept, but I'm trying to figure out the logistics — like how to not spray water all over my bathroom.

3. I'm slowly transitioning to using glass food storage containers instead of plastic. This 18-piece set with snap-on lids is BPA-free and decently priced.

4. Making my own kombucha seems like a big leap, but this starter kit has me intrigued.

5. I miss the white noise of a fan when it's not summer and I've heard good things about this sound machine. Does it make me a toddler to want one?

6. I've been seeing mushroom hot cacao with reishi all over social media and might have a little bit of FOMO about it. Keeping it in the cart for now.

7. Is two water bottles in one Amazon cart too much? Nah. This water bottle helps you stay hydrated by tracking your water intake during the day. Sign me up.

8. This matte black diffuser looks great and would be perfect for my office.

9. The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Remedies is on my list of things to read. I've been reading a lot about ayurveda lately and find it really interesting.

10. Speaking of, this Ayurvedic cookbook also sounds interesting.

  1. We are such kindred spirits. I have two diffusers and two water bottles in my cart, all of which my boyfriend is convinced I do not need. I also have fomo about the reishi hot cacao!
