Baker's Cay Resort | Key Largo

My sister and I stayed at Baker's Cay Resort in Key Largo for one glorious week in February and I've been dreaming about it ever since. We started the search with no destination in mind, just the requirement of "sun" and "warmth". I can't remember who stumbled onto the Baker's Cay website first, but it pretty much settled our destination right then and there. The resort is a part of Hilton's Curio Collection, meaning it's owned by Hilton but retains its own individual branding — which Baker's Cay has done a great job on. I mean, check out this website and Insta feed!

My sister and I are incredibly easy to please at the beach. A chair and a good book is all that's required — and the resort provided both! They even tossed in some free beach towels and sunscreen. Speaking of, I used this natural sunscreen from Target while we were there and was very happy with it. No yucky chemicals and easy on the white sheen. If you've ever tried zinc oxide sunscreens before, you know what I'm talking about.

We ate dinner at the resort's restaurant, Dry Rocks, one night but I wasn't too impressed with the food. Although, it may have just been my order because my sister ordered the shrimp tacos and loved them! I did love the ease of walking off the beach into a restaurant though and the sunset views from their deck couldn't be beat.

(every detail was cute!)

We were there shortly after the resort's soft opening. They were hit pretty bad during Hurricane Irma and have done a complete remodel and rebranding. They were still working out a few kinks while we were there with minor construction projects going on, but all in all they've done a beautiful job!
