March 2019 Favorites

Wednesday, April 03, 2019

March started off with a serious case of post-vacation blues after ending February at the beach, but things began looking up as the weather warmed and the days got longer. It's no surprise that my favorite moments of the month were all spent outside.

Favorite Moments:
We spent two nights at the cutest cabin in Vogel State Park at the beginning of March. It was right beside a small stream and, even though it was quite chilly, it was so relaxing to sit by the fire for hours or chill out in the hammock. We also got to explore several new-to-us places in North Georgia throughout the month, as well as some old familiar favorites. Some of our favorites were the Toccoa Swinging Bridge, Chicopee Woods Park, Wildcat Creek, Bell Mountain, Mossy Creek State Park, and of course the Mountain Fresh Creamery!

Favorite Books, Music, & Movies:
I read so many books this month, thanks to the Hoopla app (more on that in a minute), but I'm only including my absolute favorites here. I'm working on a more detailed post that will include all of my March reads.

The Woman In Cabin 10. I read this while we were at the beach (perfect page-turning beach read!) and it made me very glad I opted for the beach instead of a cruise.

Daisy Jones & The Six. Absolutely the best book I've read so far this year! This one came in my Book of the Month Club box and I literally couldn't put it down. A part of it had to do with the oral history writing style — for some reason that is so much faster to read for me — but it was also just really really good!

This Spotify playlist. It will forever remind me of driving through the sunny Florida Keys with the windows down.

The Last Post on Amazon Prime. Such a good show! Unfortunately, there's only one season on right now.

Favorite Products:
Target armchairs. Technically, this was a February purchase but they're still some of my favorites! We got the Husk color.

Bare Republic Sunscreen. I was looking for a natural sunscreen that wasn't filled with chemicals and was happily pleased with this. I found it at Target. It rubs in fairly well with only a hint of a white sheen but each day when I rinsed off I was left with a sweet tan and no burn! I used this tinted sunscreen for my face which is perfect to prevent the ghostly white sheen.

A Color Story's Island pre-sets. I used them on all my Florida photos and they turned out great!

Hoopla. The best decision I made this month was downloading this app. Hands-down. It's our library's version of e-books and you can check out five books a month, e-books or audiobooks.

Patagonia's Better Sweater. This was a Christmas gift from my sister and I wore it almost non-stop in the month of March. See photo above! It was a complete game-changer while we were camping. It was windy and 40-something degrees and I never got cold — unheard of for my cold-blooded self. Just goes to show that there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.
